Just a few weeks ago one of the four hobs from our old Electrolux glass ceramic cooking stove was not heating up anymore.
So I turned off the fuses and opened it up.

hotplate bottom left is not working anymore
opened stove
no wonder it wasn’t working, the heating wire was fried at one point!
this stove runs on 400v

Went to check how expensive the heating element would be at Electrolux: > 200Fr.! Then I’d better replace the entire stove!
So I went to search the original manufacturer of the element named EGO, to check if this product still exists, and gladly they still produce those! 😀

After some searching I ordered the element from a German online shop which would even ship it to Switzerland.
All together it would cost me just about 50Fr…, but still it was a risk, as I wasn’t that sure if it would fit… well, I wouldn’t write about it if it didn’t. The hob is working fine again. 😁

and here it is, the new heating element. Obviously with a few design improvements, but otherwise quite the same
here in comparison with the old elements
